An amazing opportunity arose, as Garbanzo Snacks asked R3DEFINE to not only design a new exciting gourmet snack range, but to manage the packaging process seeing our design move right through from concept to shelf. With a carte blanche brief, allowing R3DEFINE to explore design, substrate and finish, we knew that the finished product would really need to scream “GOURMET!!!”.
You would think it would be difficult to make chickpeas glamorous, but Garbanzo mastered this by introducing some worldly flavours to the range of three, to make this exciting new trio, filling, yet still stands as a healthy vegan product. This must be why Ocado have snapped up the opportunity to list the range.
To relay this wow factor in the design, R3DEFINE deemed it important to not solely focus on graphics and messaging, but equally within the format, substrate and finish of the product. Instead of adding overheads with various patterned finishes, we knew exploring the metallic substrate of the re-sealable pack would be a winner, and as you can see from the marketing visuals, the patterned white really catches the eye, adding tangible movement to the packaging.
From the initial briefing to the liaising with the printer to ensure the percentages of the inks would be correct, our connected collaborative way of working has clearly been beneficial to Garbanzo Snacks, and due to this R3DEFINE will be promoting a complete packaging service as a legitimate offering in going forward….Exciting times ahead!!
